However, if you do want to venture further afield, you’ll find a whole world of things to see and do within easy reach.
Norfolk’s coastline is a paradise for nature lovers, with everything from peaceful sandy beaches to picturesque villages, bird sanctuaries and nature reserves.
Walkers can set off along the coast straight from Hermanus. Or, if you prefer, you can explore the quiet country lanes by bicycle, or drive to pretty much any destination within Norfolk within an hour or two.Norfolk Coast website
Wonderful location atop the dunes with sea views to match, and great “away from it all” attitude and atmosphere.
Just north of Winterton and along to Horsey Gap, you can see seals when they come to deliver their pups in December and early January.
Take a bracing walk along the beach or dunes, then spend some time watching the baby seals and their parents on the beach and among the dunes.
This is an incredible opportunity to see these fascinating animals up close in their natural habitat. Make sure your dog stays on the lead – and take a camera!Friends of Horsey Seals
